Easy Sausage Meatballs

  • 500g Italian sausages (e.g sausages made with 4287 CASALINGA G/M   1 Kg)
  • 2 tbsp quality olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano2713 OREGANO RUBBED   1 Kg
  • 4 tbsp red wine
  • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove crushed or ½ tsp of minced garlic 2715 GARLIC MINCED 1-2mm   1 Kg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh or dried parsley to serve (optional) 2726 PARSLEY FLAT LEAF 1-4mm   500 g
  1. Squeeze out sausage meat from an Italian flavour sausage such as 4287 CASALINGA G/M   1 Kg and roll into meatballs, place on plastic cling-wrapped tray (or spray tray with oil to stop meatballs sticking)
  2. Heat a large fry pan and brown the meatballs
  3. Add oregano, garlic, wine and tomatoes
  4. Allow pan to simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the meat is cooked through
  5. Taste and season with salt or pepper if necessary
  6. Serve with pasta & sprinkle with parsley before serving
